Learn the Benefits of Invisalign

Invisalign has become so popular as an alternative to metal braces and it’s easy to see why! It’s great for any age, a lot more convenient and a lot less uncomfortable. It even requires fewer trips to the dentist for adjustments!

Your Invisalign journey will begin with an initial consultation. During this appointment, we will discuss your concerns, have a look at your teeth, provide a timeline as to how long it will take to have that perfect smile and lastly, discuss the cost of the treatment. Typically, Invisalign costs the same as metal braces but has more advantages!

The next step will be getting you fitted for your first set of clear plastic trays that fit over your teeth like a mouthguard. The trays have been carefully designed and tailored to your individual needs and treatment goals. You’ll need to wear the trays as much as possible every day to obtain the best results possible. Just like with traditional braces, we’ll need to see you every once in awhile to make sure everything looks great.  However, with Invisalign, we won’t need to see you as often. Once you reach the end of your treatment, you may need to wear a retainer to prevent your teeth from shifting.

Invisalign for Teenagers

Teenagers already have enough to deal with these days. Not only does Invisalign correct mis-aligned teeth that may be causing a confidence issue; it does so in an inconspicuous manner, which can make teenagers feel much more comfortable. Teenagers are always on the go and it can become an everyday battle to make sure they are taking care of their metal braces. There are foods they can’t eat and as a parent, you feel like you are always looking over their shoulder to make sure they are properly brushing and flossing between the wires and brackets. With Invisalign, they can eat and drink what they want. They also brush and floss as they normally would, making Invisalign much easier and less time consuming. Generally, Invisalign works faster than metal braces too. It’s typically 12-18 months versus 2+ years for braces. Teens can continue to play their favourite sports, instead of avoiding rough contact sports. As you can see, there are many reasons Invisalign is a better option for teenagers than metal braces. We’ve seen it work for many of our patients and would love to chat with you in person about it.
